Play Mighty Guy On Funbrain

year
occasion Bicentennial of our independence, and today when Exactly 199 years of the formal declaration of it, I take time to make a contribution for the study, analysis and dissemination of national history, which always looks favorably affected in the years of remembrance, because precisely the ephemeris and this call to remember it asks us not only the simple account of what happened or went but also a deeper meditation on why we are what we are today.

In the past 10 years has been increasing interest in many people, who are not among regular readers, wanting to approach the story, since much of what happens in our present moves them to know the answer basic questions on men, date, period or process: "what is" "When was" and especially "why." Taking advantage of that wave of interest in the past, to help better understand the present, we embarked on a new company blogueril

Thus I have undertaken the implementation of a series on this blog that I recommend books to study and analysis of our history, taking into account their availability in the market and its editorial today. Like any selection, it will be imperfect, as being arbitrary and reflect the tastes of that makes it, and also because it takes a comprehensive approach that seeks to reach the entire reading public, not only to specialists. Because of that may not be present here some "classical core" yes it should be. Also, only selected texts that are available now in the bookshops, publishers and distributors, as there is a clear objective in my lines: guide for the reader to know what to look for or where to go to learn more about the subject, stage or historical period that most caught his attention.

If that is achieved, will have completed these lines and this series its fundamental purpose.

I. GENERAL STORIES:

Here are the texts that seek to include in its content, the entire national historical process, as a sum data without further analysis of them. They are works that are classified as works of reference, ie encyclopedic works and general purposes, not specialized, which serve to guide the reader specifying dates, names and other information specific to serve as a complement to simple investigations or indicator of certain elements deeper aspects of work.

Dictionary of History of Venezuela . Made by the Polar Foundation is a classic that can not miss on any list of books on national history. Brought together over 300 specialists from different areas to make an exemplary reference work both biographical and bibliographical not only on facts and events of political and military developments, but the various aspects of our society. The last issue of 1997 consists of 4 volumes and won a prize in a prestigious editorial festival in Germany. And although editorially is exhausted, you can get in some bookstores. I particularly, I was informed that the Foundation plans to re Polar print in the year 2010, because it is a two-century date, and take advantage of the natural interest in history that the commemorations wake.

Venezuela Global History. Published by Globe of Venezuela, the same that produced the Great Encyclopedia of Venezuela (10 volumes) This time it meets in a work of 4 volumes, all content related to the history of Venezuela that was in the aforementioned encyclopedia, under the guidance academic at the Catholic University Andrés Bello, UCAB and the direction of Elias Pino Iturrieta, at the time, Director of the institute of historical research of this house of studies and director of the National Academy of History. Apart from the narrative and analysis of major historical events, with annexes on the constitutions and constituents, presidents, chronology of events. The work was published in 2004 and is still accessible to the public. It can be purchased directly at the headquarters of the publisher.

Tierra Nuestra, 1498-2009. The foundation publishes the "positive Venezuela, is the latest public work of general history as it was released in 2009. It consists of two volumes, which analyzes national historical process from pre-Columbian era to the Government of Hugo Chávez, with the exception of indigenous period, the colonial era and war of independence, the book is the sequence of descriptions and analysis of all the presidents of the republic since Páez to Chavez, giving the piece a very marked character to the biographical and toward the political. Conducted by a team of leading experts, the work is worth as a reference and consultation, as each chapter has its respective references. It is available in bookstores and also at the headquarters of the foundation.

Venezuela time. Manuel Guevara Baro. Edited by books El Nacional, this is a short but interesting as a manual with annotated chronology of major events and events of our history. Their inclusion here is because we felt readable and accessible text on national history, which may well serve as a guide to orient on the dates and topics of our past. The game comes with internal illustrations and are two volumes: the first is from the Discovery of our territory or p the English in 1498 until the beginning of Independence in 1810. The second volume is from the latter date, to the installation of the oil business in our economy (years 30) It should be noted that whoever performs the work is not a professional historian (is actually an electrical engineer) but no limited or minimized the work, which can reach a large and diverse audience-students especially-and that is great merit. It is available in most bookstores in the country or at the outlets of El Nacional. Contu
